Turn Mobile Hotspot On / Off - BlackBerry® Classic

This shows how to turn Mobile Hotspot on or off. If you're having trouble setting up or connecting to Wi-Fi, make sure Mobile Hotspot is off.

Note When Mobile Hotspot is turned on, other Wi-Fi services are turned off.

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings Settings icon.
    Note If not available, swipe down from the top of the display (where the time is located).
  2. Tap Network Connections Network and connection settings icon.
  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
    1. If presented with the "How Mobile Hotspot Works" screen, tap Next (located in the upper-right).
    2. From the "Charges May Apply" screen, review the disclaimer then tap Next.
    3. From the "Monitor Hotspot Users" screen, review the disclaimer then tap Next.
    4. From the "Preserve Your Battery" screen, review the disclaimer then tap Next.
      Note Alternatively, tap Skip to setup Advanced settings icon (located at the bottom) to skip to step 6.
    5. From the "Inactivity Timer" screen, review the disclaimer then tap Next.
      Note Alternatively, tap Skip to setup Advanced settings icon (located at the bottom) to skip to step 6.
    6. From the "Setup your Mobile Hotspot Password" screen, enter a password then tap Next (located in the upper-right).
      Note Passphrase must be between 8 and 64 characters.
  4. Tap the Mobile Hotspot switch to turn on On indicator or off Off indicator.
