Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings - BlackBerry® Classic

To configure Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings (e.g., password, allowed devices, etc.), view this info.

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings Settings icon.
    Note If not available, swipe down from the top of the display (where the time is located).
  2. Tap Network Connections Network and connection settings icon.
  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
  4. Tap Configure Advanced settings icon (located at the bottom).
  5. Configure the following then tap Save (located in the upper-right):
    Note To restore default Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings, tap Restore Defaults Settings icon (located at the bottom).
    • Mobile Hotspot Name
      Note This is the Network SSID.
    • Security Type
      • WPA2 Personal
      • WPA/WPA2 Personal
      • WEP
      • None
    • Password
      Note To view the password, tap Show password View password icon.
    • Band Type
      • 2.4GHz
      • 5 GHz
    • From the "Inactivity Timer" section, adjust the timer level.
      Note Tap and hold the indicator then drag to the desired position.
      Note If there is no traffic to or from the mobile network, your Mobile Hotspot session ends after this time. If your device is plugged into a power source, this timer has no effect. Some networks may override your inactivity timer settings.
    • Tap the "Allow connected devices to exchange data with each other" On/Off switch to turn on On indicator or off Off indicator.
