Add a Virtual Private Network - LG G Pad™ X8.3

A virtual private network (VPN) encrypts your internet traffic and protects your online identity via a secured remote server and is most commonly used when remotely accessing company systems (e.g., company email, intranet sites, etc.).

Note Contact the VPN administrator for assistance with server information and credentials.

  1. From a home screen, tap Apps Apps icon (located at the bottom).
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings Settings icon.
  3. Tap More.
  4. Tap VPN.
  5. Tap Basic VPN.
  6. If presented with a lock screen notification, tap OK.
    Note Refer to Set Up Screen Lock (Pattern, PIN, or Password only) for assistance.
  7. Tap Add Basic VPN network.
  8. From the Name field, enter the appropriate name
  9. Tap the Type field, then tap one of the following from the drop down menu.
    • PPTP
    • L2TP/IPSec PSK
    • L2TP/IPSec RSA
    • IPSec Xauth PSK
    • IPSec Xauth RSA
    • IPSec Hybrid RSA
  10. Enter the appropriate information into the applicable fields then tap Save (lower-right).
    Note If applicable, tap Show advanced options to configure the following:
    Note The available options vary depending upon the selected VPN type.
    • Enable L2TP
    • IPSec pre-shared key
    • DNS search domains
    • DNS servers
    • Forwarding routes
