  • To share media files, an active Wi-Fi connection must be established. Refer to the following for assistance:
  • To play or copy media to / from other devices (e.g., computer, TV, etc.), they must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and may need to be configured for sharing. Refer to the user manual or contact the equipment manufacturer for assistance.
  • A Miracast-enabled HDTV or a Wireless Display adapter may be required to view your smartphone's screen via an external display. A Wireless Display adapter can be purchased from any Verizon Wireless retail store or at the online store.
  • For assistance setting up a Google® Chromecast™ device, refer to this page.
  • Some apps (e.g., YouTube, Netflix, etc.) support displaying the app contents on a remote display. Within the app, tap the Cast icon Cast icon then select the desired display from the list.

 

Here are a few ways to share your screen with a TV. A compatible TV or additional accessories may be required. Check with your TV manufacturer for additional support.

Share Your Screen

Note Follow these steps to view your entire screen contents on your TV.

  1. From a home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon.
  2. From the Wireless Networks section, tap Share & connect Share and connect icon.
  3. Tap the Miracast Switch to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
    1. Tap Miracast.
      Note Miracast must be enabled.
    2. Select the preferred display from the list.

Share Pictures, Videos or Music

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon.
  2. From the Wireless Networks section, tap Share & connect Share and connect icon.
  3. Tap Media server.
  4. Tap Content sharing to enable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark Check box icon is present.
  5. Tap Content to share.
  6. Select the desired option (e.g., Photos, Videos, or Music) then tap OK.
  7. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right) then tap Use DLNA feature.
  8. Tap Library (located at the top) to select the content source library.
  9. Tap Player (located at the top) to select the content player.
  10. Select the preferred file(s) then tap Play.
    Note Selected when a check mark is present.

Share with a PC Using the SmartShare App

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Verizon folder icon > Settings Settings icon.
  2. From the Wireless Networks section, tap Share & connect Share and connect icon.
  3. Tap the SmartShare Beam switch to turn on On indicator or off Off indicator.

Media Server Settings (DLNA)

Note Configure these settings to share files with a DLNA-enabled device (e.g., TV, game console, etc.). To determine whether your device supports the DLNA standard, see this product database.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon.
  2. From the Wireless Networks section, tap Share & connect Share and connect icon.
  3. Tap Media server.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right).
  5. Tap Use DLNA feature.
    Note Enabled when a check mark Check box icon is present.
  6. Tap Content sharing to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  7. Tap Content to share.
  8. Choose any of the following then tap OK:
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Photos
    • Videos
    • Music
  9. Tap Receive content to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  10. With Receive content disabled, tap Sharing requests.
  11. Choose an option:
    • Always accept
    • Always ask
    • Always deny
