If unable to access the app, temporary Internet files can also be cleared by doing a force stop and clear data of the Chrome app. However, utilizing this method results in all settings/preferences (e.g., browser bookmarks) being cleared.
From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon > (Google) > Chrome .
If unavailable, swipe up from the center of the display then tap Chrome .
Tap the Menu icon (upper-right).
From the 'Advanced' section, tap Privacy.
Tap Clear browsing data.
From the 'Clear browsing data', tap the Advanced tab.
Select from the following: Selected when a check mark is present.
A listing of URLs (website addresses) that you like to visit.
Cookies and site data
Some cookies contain customized preference and login information for past websites you like to visit. If you delete this, the website may prompt for this info again.
Cached images and files
Your website visits content is stored on the device. The cache enables the browser to download only the content that has changed since the last time you went to a website. Since the browser only downloads changed content, pages load faster.
Autofill form data
If prompted, 'Clear site storage?', select an option then tap CLEAR.
