Insert SIM Card - Microsoft® Surface 3

Note Don't attempt to insert the SIM card while the device is powered on. Doing so may harm the SIM card and/or the device.

Note Notes:

  • Verizon supports the Microsoft Surface 3 on Windows 8.1 Pro OS. Contact Microsoft Support to assist with any Windows 10 Pro OS How to and troubleshooting questions.
  • If your device is not running Windows 10, refer to Windows 8 for further instruction.

  1. Ensure the device is powered off.
  2. From the bottom edge of the device, remove the card tray.
    Note Utilize the insertion/removal tool (it comes in the box with the device) to unlock the tray by inserting it into the provided slot then remove the tray.

  3. With the gold contacts facing down and the notch located in the lower-right, insert the SIM card into the tray as shown.
    Note Ensure that the card is properly seated in the tray with the front of the card under the notch.

  4. Insert the card tray.
    Note Press in on the tray to lock it into place.
