Samsung Galaxy J3 V / J3 (2016) - Add a Virtual Private Network

A virtual private network (VPN) encrypts your internet traffic and protects your online identity via a secured remote server and is most commonly used when remotely accessing company systems (e.g., company email, intranet sites, etc.).

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > More.
  2. Tap VPN.
  3. If presented with a lock screen notification, tap OK.
    Note Refer to Set Up Screen Lock for assistance.
  4. Tap ADD VPN (upper-right).
    Note For Prepaid device, tap Basic VPN.
  5. Contact the VPN admin for assistance with server info and other necessary credentials:
    • Name
    • Type
    • Server Address
    • Username
    • Password
    • If applicable, tap Show advanced options to configure the following:
      Note The available options vary depending upon the selected VPN type.
      • DNS search domains
      • DNS servers
      • Forwarding routes
