Enter the System ID or scan the QR code from the label on the Hum box or the welcome email.
When scanning the QR code, the Hum app may request access to the camera. If prompted, tap OK.
If multiple Hum systems were purchased, enter the System ID for any Hum device. Once set up is complete, the other devices can be installed.
Enter your First and Last name then tap Continue.
Enter your mobile number then tap Continue.
Create a password with the following requirements then tap Create Password:
At least 8 characters in length
Contains at least 3 of the following:
Special character (e.g., #, $, %, etc.)
Tap Open Email to click the verification link.
The verification link expires after 24 hours. If needed, tap Resend Email to receive a new link.
To continue, review the Terms of Service then tap I Agree.
To turn location and motion settings on, tap Continue. If prompted, review the info then tap 'Always Allow' or 'OK' to grant Hum access to location and motion features.
Enter the year, make, model, and color of your vehicle then tap Continue.
To add multiple vehicles, tap + to the right of each vehicle to enter details.
Verify the Vehicle Information is correct then tap Add Vehicle.
Enter your first name, last name and phone number then tap Add Driver.
Verify the phone number is correct then select 'Yes' or 'Edit' the phone number if necessary.
The phone number provided is used for crash response.
From the 'Add Emergency Contact' screen enter the name and phone number of who to contact in the event of a crash.
For Hum X only, Charge the speaker and place it on the driver side visor then tap Continue.
New Hum+ devices do not have a Speaker, and old Hum+ devices can no longer be activated.
Plug the OBD reader into your vehicle's OBD-II port then tap Continue.

To be notified when the Hum device has been detected tap Notify Me.
From the 'Turn on Notifications' screen, tap Continue.
Tap OK to give permission to have notifications sent to you.
From your web browser, go to the Hum website (www.hum.com) then tap Sign In (upper-right).
Click create account.
Enter the System ID.
The System ID can be retrieved from the box label (below).
If multiple Hum systems were purchased, enter the System ID of one on the account and the others auto-provision upon installation.
Choose a method to receive your 6-digit activation PIN:
email (registered to account)
Once received, enter the PIN into the space provided on the webpage.
Create an 8-24 character password with at least three of the following:
Scroll down to enter an emergency contact and phone number.
Click submit. if activation is successful, you receive the validation screen shown below.
Install the Speaker by using the clip to place it on the driver's side sun visor.
Ensure the volume is turned up by using the volume controls. The switch must be turned on for Bluetooth® calling to work, but all other Hum functions work even when switched off.
Follow these instructions to connect to a phone via Bluetooth.
Start the vehicle and take a 10-15 minute drive to allow the OBD reader to reach out to the network and complete activation.
Once you have completed the installation and after your first drive, you can see dashboard updates on your app and through the web portal.
Press the Customer Service button then press the Call button on the Speaker to interact with a Hum Specialist if desired.
To activate a replacement Hum device, call the VZW activation line (1-877-807-4646) and follow IVR prompts.
Ensure to have your Hum number available which can be found on the receipt inside the box.
It may take up to 10 minutes for your device to activate.
When IVR activation steps are complete, make sure you're in a good coverage area (strong cell signal) then plug the new OBD Reader into the car.
HumX Only: If you have a speaker as part of your Hum system, follow Bluetooth® speaker pairing and Wi-Fi setup instructions (found in the HumX Quick Start Guide).
Once the new equipment is installed, take a 10-15 minute drive so the system can validate the equipment.
Return the original Hum equipment using the prepaid shipping label included with your new Hum device.
