Set Up Device - SmartHub with Voice

Note Notes:

  • The SmartHub comes with the SIM card installed.
  • Ensure the SIM card is firmly seated in the slot. Remove and reinsert if necessary to activate.
  • For more info, view the device details.

  1. Insert the battery.
  2. From the back of the Smart Hub, connect and power up the device:
    1. Plug power cord into the power port Power connection icon on the device then plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.

    2. Press the Power switch Power switch icon in the up position to turn the device on.

  3. The SmartHub automatically powers on then guides you through welcome process for connecting to Wi-Fi as follows:
    1. From the SmartHub display, tap the Navigation bar to activate the screen.
      Note Use the arrows to cycle through screens and the Circle icon Circular select icon in the center to select.

    2. From the Display, select NEXT to continue setup.
      Note Verizon Home app installation is not required to complete initial setup.

    3. Note the password for later use or app setup then select NEXT.

    4. Navigate to the Admin page if appropriate then select CONTINUE.
      Note Connection to 'my.smarthub' is not required to complete initial setup.

    5. Select FINISH to complete setup.

  4. Ensure at least one bar shows for the signal strength signal indicator.
    Note Ensure at least one of the signal strength indicator bars Signal bars is lit up. If no bars are lit, move the SmartHub to a location that receives a signal.

  5. Connect your telephone as follows:
    Caution Don't plug the SmartHub into a telephone jack.
    1. Unplug telephone cord from wall's telephone jack.
    2. Plug the end of the telephone cord that was removed from the wall jack into one of the two phone ports on the back of the device.
      Note The other end of telephone cord must remain plugged into the back of the telephone's base unit.

  6. Place a call to start using the service.
    Note Ensure at least one of the signal strength indicator bars Signal bars is lit up. If no bars are lit, move the SmartHub to a location that receives a signal.
    Note You may need to use the three-digit area code when dialing local and long distance numbers.
  7. If appropriate, set up a Voicemail account.
  8. If appropriate, plug Ethernet cable into the designated port.
    Note The other end of cable must remain plugged into the Ethernet port of the device you wish to connect. Reboot the connected device, if needed.
    Note A network switch (accessory not included in the box) is needed for more than one Ethernet device connection. Ethernet cables are sold separately.
