Set Up Screen Lock - moto e4 plus™

Note Notes:

  • If using Microsoft® Exchange / Corporate sync, some screen lock options may be unavailable.
  • These steps can also be utilized to change your current screen lock setting.
  • A pattern, PIN or password must be set up to turn on factory reset protection.
    Note Changing screen lock to "None" or "Swipe" turns off this feature.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Security.
  3. From the Device security section, tap Screen lock.
    Note If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Select one of the following:

None

If prompted, review the notification regarding device protection then tap YES, REMOVE to confirm.

Fingerprint

Note A lock screen requiring a fingerprint match (or alternative PIN/Pattern/Password) is used to access the device.

Follow on-screen prompts to set up fingerprint security.

Swipe

Note A lock screen requiring a left or right swipe is created to access the device.

If prompted, review the notification regarding device protection then tap YES, REMOVE to confirm.

Pattern

Note An unlock pattern is created to access the device.

  1. Select one of the following options then tap CONTINUE (located in the lower-right).
    • Require pattern to start device
    • No thanks
  2. Draw an unlock pattern (connecting at least 4 dots) then tap CONTINUE.
  3. Draw the same pattern again then tap CONFIRM.
  4. If presented, select an option then tap DONE (located in the lower-right).
    • Show all notification content
    • Hide sensitive notification content
    • Don't show notifications at all

Top

PIN

Note A PIN is created to access the device.

  1. If presented with the PIN policy screen, tap OK.
  2. Select one of the following options then tap CONTINUE (located in the lower-right).
    • Require PIN to start device
    • No thanks
  3. Enter a numeric PIN (4 to 16 digits) then tap CONTINUE.
  4. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap OK.
  5. If presented, select an option then tap DONE (located in the lower-right).
    • Show all notification content
    • Hide sensitive notification content
    • Don't show notifications at all

Top

Password

Note A password is created to access the device.

  1. If presented with the Password policy screen, tap OK.
  2. Select one of the following options then tap CONTINUE (located in the lower-right).
    • Require password to start device
    • No thanks
  3. Enter a password (4 to 16 characters) then tap CONTINUE.
  4. Re-enter the password then tap OK.
  5. If presented, select an option then tap DONE (located in the lower-right).
    • Show all notification content
    • Hide sensitive notification content
    • Don't show notifications at all
