Google Pixel 2 - View / Restrict Data Usage by App

Caution Some apps depend upon background data (transferring data when not directly in use). Restricting background data may cause those apps to stop functioning unless a Wi-Fi connection is available.

  1. From a Home screen, touch and swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Tap Settings Settings icon > Network & Internet > Data Usage.
  3. From the Mobile section, tap App data usage.
Note To see Wi-Fi data usage, tap Wi-Fi data usage in the Wi-Fi section.
  4. Tap an app (located below the usage graph) then view the usage.
NoteTo restrict the app from using data in the background, tap the Background data switch to turn off off switch.
  5. If presented, review the message then tap OK.
