Samsung Galaxy Note9 - Move Music Files to Device

This helps you move or transfer music between your device and a computer/PC.

caution Only DRM free or unprotected music can be transferred via this method.

Note Notes:

 

  1. Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
    1. If prompted to allow access to your data, tap Allow.
    2. Touch and hold the Status bar (at the top) then drag to the bottom.
      Note The image below is an example.

    3. From the Android system iconAndroid System section, ensure File Transfer is selected.
      Note If necessary, select the current option (e.g., Charging, Image transfer, etc.) then in the 'Use USB for' section, tap Transferring files.
  2. Launch File Explorer or Windows Explorer.
    Note Using the computer keyboard, press Windows+E ( Windows key logo+E) keys.
    Note Alternatively, right-click Start then click Open Windows Explorer or File Explorer.
  3. Using File or Windows Explorer, navigate: Galaxy Note9 > Phone > Music.
    Note If you want to store the files on the memory card, navigate: Galaxy Note9 > Card then choose the location of the files.
  4. Use the computer to copy music and other audio files into the folder.
    note For any accompanying artwork in JPEG format, rename the art file albumart.jpg and copy into the same folder as the music files.
  5. To further organize files, create a subfolder in the newly created music folder and copy desired music files into it.
  6. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer when finished.
