Mobile Hotspot Settings - Samsung Galaxy Tab S4

To configure Mobile Hotspot settings (e.g., password, allowed devices, etc.), view this info.

Allowed Devices

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Connections Connections icon (left pane) > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering
  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu then tap Allowed devices.
  5. Tap Allowed devices only to turn on Switch on or off Switch on.
    Note When on, only devices added to the list can connect.
  6. Perform any of the following:
  • To add a device:
    1. Tap ADD (upper-right).
    2. Enter the devices name and MAC address then tap ADD.
  • To remove a device:
    1. Tap DELETE (upper-right).
    2. Select the device(s).
      Note Device is marked for deletion when a check mark is present.
      Note To select all devices, tap ALL (upper-left).

Configure Mobile Hotspot

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Connections Connections icon (left pane) > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu then tap Configure Mobile Hotspot
  5. Configure any of the following:
    • Network name
    • Hide my device
      Note On when a check mark is present.
    • Security
      • Open
      • WPA2 PSK
    • Password
      Note Password can be changed.
    • Show advanced options
      NoteOn when a check mark is present.
  6. Tap SAVE (lower-right).

Timeout Settings

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Connections Connections icon (left pane) > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu then tap Timeout settings
  5. Select an option (e.g, Never timeout, 5 mintues, 10 mintues, 60 mintues, etc.).
