Samsung Galaxy S10 - Configure Broadcast Settings - Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot

If you are experiencing connectivity issues with your Mobile Hotspot or your device isn't found, check out the steps below.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Connections > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right).
  5. Tap Configure Mobile Hotspot.
  6. If preferred, enter or change the Network name.
  7. Tap Hide my phone.
    Note Selected when a checkmark is present. 
    Note When hidden, your network name will not appear in the list of available Wi-Fi networks.
  8. In the Password section, enter the preferred password.
    Note The password will be required to sign in to your network. 
  9. From the Band section, tap the dropdown menu icon then tap 5 GHz preferred to turn on or off.
  10. Tap the following options to turn on or off. 
    Note On when a checkmark is present.
    • Power saving mode
      Note Reduces battery usage by analyzing Mobile Hotspot traffic.
    • Protected Management Frames
