Samsung Galaxy S10 5G - Configure Broadcast Settings - Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot

If you are experiencing connectivity issues with your Mobile Hotspot or your device isn't found, check out the steps below.

Note To avoid interference with other Wi-Fi networks, try using non-overlapping channels (i.e., 1, 6, or 11).

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Connections > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right)
  5. Tap Configure Mobile Hotspot.
  6. Tap (check) Show advanced options.
  7. From the Broadcast channel section, select (check) Use 5 GHz band when available to turn on or off.
    Note Turned on when a checkmark is present.
  8. Tap the Dropdown menu icon Drop down menu icon then select a channel (e.g., Auto, 1, 2, 3, 11, etc.).
  9. Tap Save (lower-right).
