Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e - Configure Broadcast Settings - Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot

If you are experiencing connectivity issues with your Mobile Hotspot or your device isn't found, check out the steps below.

Note To avoid interference with other Wi-Fi networks, try using non-overlapping channels (i.e., 1, 6, or 11).

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Connections > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu (upper-right).
  5. Tap Configure Mobile Hotspot.
  6. Tap Show advanced options.
  7. From the 'Broadcast channel' section, tap Use 5 GHz band when available to turn the ability to connect to 5 GHz Wi-Fi devices on or off.
    Note On when a checkmark is present.
  8. Tap the Dropdown menu icon Drop down menu icon below 2.4 GHz then select a channel (e.g., Auto, 1, 2, 7, 11, etc.).
  9. Tap Save (lower-right).
