Note Notes:

  • To share media files, an active Wi-Fi connection must be established. Refer to the following for assistance:
  • To play or copy media to / from other devices (e.g., computer, TV, etc.), they must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and may need to be configured for sharing. Refer to the user manual or contact the equipment manufacturer for assistance.
  • For assistance with setting up a Google® Chromecast™ device, refer to this page.
  • Some apps (e.g., YouTube, Netflix, etc.) support displaying the app contents on a remote display. Within the app, tap the Cast icon Cast icon then select the desired display from the list.

 

Here are a few ways to share your screen with a TV. A compatible TV or additional accessories may be required. Check with your TV manufacturer for additional support.

Share Your Screen

Note A Miracast-enabled HDTV or a Wireless Display adapter is required to view your smartphone's screen via an external display. A Wireless Display adapter can be purchased from any Verizon Wireless retail store or at the online store.

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps .
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings.
  3. Tap Share & connect.
  4. Tap Miracast.
  5. Tap the Miracast switch to turn on or off .
  6. Tap a wireless display.
  7. View pictures/videos.

Share Pictures, Videos or Music

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps (at the bottom).
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings.
  3. Tap Share & connect.
  4. Tap Media server.
  5. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right).
  6. Tap Use DLNA feature.
  7. Tap Library then navigate to the preferred device and folder.
  8. Tap Player then select the preferred device.
  9. Tap the Menu icon then select any of the following:
    • Search
    • Play
    • Download
    • Sort by
    • List view

  1. From a Home screen, select Apps (at the bottom).
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings.
  3. Tap Share & connect.
  4. Tap SmartShare Beam.
  5. Tap the SmartShare Beam switch to turn on or off

Media Server Settings (DLNA)

Note Configure these settings to share files with a DLNA-enabled device (e.g., TV, game console, etc.). To determine whether your device supports the DLNA standard, see this product database.

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps (at the bottom).
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings.
  3. Tap Share & connect.
  4. Tap Media server.
  5. Tap Content sharing.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    Note From the Content sharing prompt, tap Yes.
  6. Tap Content to share.
  7. Select any of the following then tap OK:
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Photos
    • Videos
    • Music
  8. Tap Receive content.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
