Verizon Messages - Apple® iPad® - Download and Install App

Note An Apple ID must be created to use the App Store. For assistance, refer to Create Apple ID. For additiional assistance, refer to iTunes Store: Retrieving and Changing Passwords.

  1. From the Home screen, tap App Store.
  2. Tap the Search (lower-right).
  3. Enter Verizon Messages in the search field then tap the app.
  4. Tap Get or the download icon.
    Tap Get or Download
  5. Tap Install.
  6. If prompted, tap Use Existing Apple ID.
  7. Enter the Apple ID and password then tap OK.
    Note The Apple ID is the email address associated with the account.
  8. Press the Home button to return to the Home screen.
    Tap the Menu Button
  9. From the Home screen, tap the Message+ icon to launch the app.
    Note To locate the app, it may be necessary to swipe left or right on the Home screen.

  10. If prompted with 'Message+ Would Like to Send You Notifications', tap an option:
    • Don't Allow
    • Allow
    Tap an Option
  11. Tap Start Messaging.
    Tap Start Messaging
  12. If prompted with 'Message+ Would Like to Access Your Contacts' tap an option:
    • Don't Allow
    • Allow
    Tap OK
  13. Enter the device name, enter the 10-digit Verizon Wireless mobile phone number that the device is to be paired with then tap Send Code.

  14. Use the camera to scan the QR Code on the text message you received.

  15. Tap an option:
    • No, I don't want a public profile
    • Yes, I want a public profile
    Tap an Option
  16. If prompted with the What's New screen, review the new features then tap Close (located upper right).
    Tap Close
