Enable / Disable App - Samsung Galaxy S® 5

Some apps that come pre-installed (e.g., calculator, Google Play™ Store, Verizon Cloud, Call Filter, etc.) on your Android™ device can't be uninstalled; however, they can be disabled (turned off) so they don't appear in the list of apps on your device.

Note The option to enable or disable an app may only be available for apps that can't be uninstalled.

Enable App

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Applications icon > Settings > Applications.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Application manager.
  3. Tap All apps (upper-left).
  4. Tap Turned off.
  5. Tap the appropriate app.
  6. Tap Enable.

Disable App

Caution Disabling an app may cause related apps to function improperly.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Applications icon > Settings > Applications.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Application manager.
  3. Tap the appropriate app.
  4. Tap Force stop.
  5. Tap Force stop to confirm.
  6. Tap Disable.
  7. Tap Disable to confirm.
