Note: If you exceed your data allowance, your overage charges will be rounded up to the next GB. For example, if you go over your data allowance by 2.5 GB, you'll be billed for 3 GB of overage.
What are the overage charges for Nationwide plans if I go over my messaging allowance?
If you pay $10/month for 1000 messages, you'll be charged 10 cents/message sent or received after 1000 messages are sent or received.
If you don't have a messaging allowance but pay per message, the rate is 20 cents/text message sent or received and 25 cents/multimedia message sent or received.
Is there a way I can check to see how many megabytes an app is before I download it to my phone?
Yes, if you're in the Media Store catalog on your basic phone:
Highlight the game or app you want to download and press OK.
Scroll down to INFO and press OK.
At the bottom of the description, the size of the app is listed.
Note: 1024KB = 1MB
I have a Nationwide plan. Am I required to have a data package?
If you purchased a smartphone with a new 2-year agreement, a data package (minimum $30/month) is required for the 2-year term, even if you change devices on the line.

What are the Nationwide Talk & Text Plans?
Nationwide Talk & Text Plans include unlimited messaging to anyone on any network in the US, including Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, in addition to all of the benefits of Nationwide Talk Plans.
Nationwide Talk & Text Plans are no longer available to add to customer accounts. If you currently have a Nationwide Talk & Text Plan, you can continue your service with that plan. For information about available plans, visit our current plans page.
What types of messages are included in the Nationwide Talk & Text Plans?
A Family SharePlan allows up to 5 lines to share minutes and messaging allowances.
This plan is not available for new customers. If you're an existing customer with this plan you can continue your service with this plan. For information about plans that are available, refer to our Plans page.
How do I add another device and line of service to a Family SharePlan?
To add another device and line to your Family SharePlan:
Click Add a Device or ADD A LINE at the top of the page, and follow the prompts to purchase a device and add it to your account.
Note: If you want to use a device you already own instead of purchasing a new device for the new line of service, go to the Activate or Switch Device page in My Verizon. Select the option to Create a New Line and follow the onscreen prompts.
When prompted, specify that you want to add the new device to your existing Family SharePlan.
You've successfully added a new device and line of service to your Family SharePlan.
If I add a line to my Family SharePlan from another Verizon Wireless
account, will the upgrade eligibility date for that line be reset?
No, if you add a current Verizon Wireless line as an additional line under your current Family SharePlan account, the upgrade eligibility date for that line remains the same.
I'm an Account Owner on a Family SharePlan and need to assign this role to a different wireless number on my account. How do I do this?
You won't be able to change the Account Owner through My Verizon. To contact one of our representatives, click the Chat with us button at the bottom right corner of this page.
If I'm on a Family SharePlan will I be penalized for going back to a single-line plan?
No, you won't be penalized for going back to a single-line plan. However, please note:
If there are other lines on your account, you must also assign them to a single-line plan.
If any lines on your account are under contract and you cancel them, an early termination fee will apply.
Can I upgrade my plan temporarily and then switch back to my current Family SharePlan?
Yes, you can change the minutes, messaging and data allowances for your current Family SharePlan.
However you won't be able to switch to an entirely different plan (e.g., unlimited or shared data plans) and then switch back to any Nationwide plan (e.g., Family SharePlan) because Nationwide plans have been discontinued. You can change your minutes, messaging and data allowances a maximum of 2 times per month.
How do I cancel one of the lines on my Family SharePlan?

Nationwide 65 Plus Plans (no longer available for new activations)
Can I get the Nationwide 65 Plus Single or 2-line plans?
This plan is no longer available to be added to customer accounts. Current customers can continue service with this plan. Visit our current plans page to learn about unlimited or shared data plans that are available for new customers.
Am I required to sign a long-term contract to subscribe to the Nationwide 65 Plus Plan?
No, you're not required to sign a long-term contract for this plan if you activate a phone you already have that's compatible with our network or you buy a phone from us at its retail cost. However, if you purchase a phone at a discount from us, you'll be required to sign a 2-year contract.
Are there any special age restrictions to the Nationwide 65 Plus Plan?
Yes, the Account Owner must be 65 or older to qualify for this plan.
Why is there an age restriction for the Nationwide 65 Plus Plan?
We designed a special calling plan to meet the needs of a select group of wireless customers who have a reduced need for Anytime minutes but still want to take advantage of our network. We reduced the anytime and weekend minutes based on customers 65 and over requests for a lower priced plan while still maintaining unlimited Mobile to Mobile calling.
Is unlimited texting included in the Nationwide 65 Plus Plan?
With Friends & Family you can call any number, on any network in the US, any time - and never use your plan minutes!
Note: Friends & Family is only available if you're a current customer on a qualifying Nationwide Plan. However, our current plans offer unlimited calling, messaging and shared data to suit your needs, including unlimited options.
What plans are eligible for Friends & Family?
Friends & Family is available on Nationwide Single Line plans* with at least 900 Anytime minutes, as well as Nationwide Family SharePlans* with 1,400 Anytime minutes or more.
To check if you're on a qualifying plan, visit the My Plan page in My Verizon. In the Voice section, you'll see the details of your current plan.
* Nationwide Plans are no longer available for new customers. Only current customers on Nationwide Plans are eligible to switch to a plan with Friends & Family.

How do I add numbers to my Friends & Family list?
To add numbers to your Friends & Family list:
Go to the Friends & Family page in My Verizon.
Note: If you haven't already activated the Friends & Family service, you can do that here by clicking Activate my Friends & Family. You must be either an Account Owner or Account Manager to activate the Friends & Family service.
Add and remove numbers from the Friends & Family list.
How many numbers can I add to my Friends & Family list?
Customers on Nationwide plans with 900 Anytime minutes or more can choose up to 5 Friends & Family numbers. Customers on Nationwide Family SharePlans with 1400 Anytime minutes or more can choose up to 10 Friends & Family numbers for the entire account. Each line doesn't get its own separate list of Friends & Family numbers.
Can I add numbers that aren't Verizon Wireless numbers to my Friends & Family list?
Yes, with Friends & Family you can choose anyone, on any network in the US, to call without ever using your plan minutes. You can also change who is on your Friends & Family list at anytime by going to the Manage My Friends & Family page in My Verizon.
When do changes to Friends & Family become effective?
Changes to your Friends & Family numbers become effective the following day. Calls to and from the numbers you remove will continue to be unlimited during the day the change was made. Calls to and from the numbers you add will not be unlimited until the following day.
Will I be notified when there are changes to Friends & Family?
Yes, the Account Owner will receive a text message when a change that affects your Friends & Family eligibility is made.
What types of numbers can I add to Friends & Family?
Your Friends & Family list can contain any valid US number as well as any 800-type number, including 888, 866 and 877 (excluding 800-555-1212). Your Friends & Family list can't include directory assistance, 900-type numbers, your own mobile number or voicemail access number, or numbers from Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
I have an America's Choice plan. Is Friends & Family available on my plan?
No, Friends & Family is only available on Nationwide Single Line plans with 900 Anytime minutes or more, or Nationwide Family SharePlans with 1,400 Anytime minutes or more.

Yes, customers who receive business or employee discounts will continue to enjoy these discounts plus the added benefit of Friends & Family on qualifying Nationwide plans.
If I have Friends & Family, do I still qualify for Mobile to Mobile Calling?
Yes, all plans eligible for Friends & Family also include Unlimited Mobile to Mobile Calling.
