  3. Where can I get SmartHub?

    You can buy SmartHub at your local Verizon Wireless store or order it online today.

    A Verizon Wireless data plan is required to use SmartHub for internet service and smart home devices.

  4. I'm not with Verizon Wireless yet. Can I still get SmartHub?

    Yes. SmartHub only works on Verizon's 4G LTE network, but you can start an account when you buy your SmartHub.

  5. How many Wi-Fi devices can I connect to my SmartHub?

    You can connect more than 200 Wi-Fi devices to SmartHub, such as computers, tablets, gaming consoles, eReaders, printers, smart home devices and more.

    SmartHub also has a guest Wi-Fi mode, providing a secure connection to friends and family, without sharing access to your primary Wi-Fi network.

  1. What's the Verizon Home app and what can I do with it?

    The Verizon Home app lets you manage your SmartHub and all your connected smart home devices from one app on your Android or iOS device.

    Verizon Home lets you set parental controls, add users, control your smart home devices, and even schedule routines, so your smart home devices work for you automatically.

    • It provides flexible home automation:
      • Actions and triggers: turn on/off, arm/disarm, open/close, set temperature, adjust brightness, etc.
      • Set specific times to execute an action or trigger
      • Set time restrictions, such as after or before a specific time (e.g., after 6pm or before 9am)
      • Manually execute an existing routine, a one-time modification or a permanent modification of a routine
  2. Which devices does the Verizon Home app work with?

    The Verizon Home app works with devices running Android 4.0.3 and newer, and iOS 8.0 and newer. You can download them in the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

  3. Do I have to pay extra to use smart home features?

    No. Aside from the monthly charges and data usage associated with your Verizon plan and the cost of purchasing the smart home devices, there are no additional fees associated with your smart home devices.

  4. Can I replace my current landline phone with SmartHub's phone feature?

    Yes. You can connect your home phone and port your home phone number to your SmartHub. Your calls will use America's Largest and Most Reliable 4G LTE Network, and have the clarity of HD Voice*.

    *Available if both parties have HD Voice and are in a 4G LTE coverage area. 

  5. Do I need a data plan for home phone service?

    No. SmartHub needs a data plan for internet service and to support smart home devices, but you can use it for phone service with a voice-only plan.

  6. Will my SmartHub work when the power is out?

    SmartHub's backup battery will keep your connected home phone running in standby mode for up to 45 hours, with 4 hours of talk time.*

    *While SmartHub does have a backup battery, if the landline phone to which it is connected requires external electric power to operate, service (including the ability to make and receive 911 calls) will not be available during a power outage. Please note that the backup battery only supports the voice functionality for the service. Data functionality will not be supported in the event of a power outage.
