The MORE Everything® Plan FAQs

The MORE Everything Plan is closed to new accounts. The new Verizon Plan has 30% more data, Carryover Data and freedom from overage charges with Safety Mode. Check out all the benefits of the new Verizon Plan today. If you still need information on your current MORE Everything Plan visit:

General Information
  1. What's The MORE Everything Plan and what do I get with it?

The MORE Everything Plan is no longer available for new customers. Existing customers with The MORE Everything Plan can keep it, add new devices, upgrade devices and change data allowances.

We encourage you to consider the new Verizon Plan because it includes additional benefits, like more data, the new My Verizon app, and great new features like Safety Mode and Carryover Data.

With MORE Everything, your account gets:

    • Unlimited domestic calling while in the US
    • Unlimited domestic and international messaging while in the US
    • Shareable data for up to 10 devices on your account
    • Mobile Hotspot
    • 25 GB of Verizon Cloud storage

Learn more about Mobile Hotspot, international messaging and Verizon Cloud.

  2. What are my voice and data options on The MORE Everything Plan?

The MORE Everything Plan is no longer available for new customers. Existing customers with The MORE Everything Plan can keep the plan, add new devices, upgrade devices and change data allowances. We're encouraging all customers to consider The Verizon Plan.

Voice minutes and messaging are unlimited and included with The MORE Everything Plan. You get to choose how much data from 500 MB to 100 GB to share with up to 10 devices on your account. Our Data Calculator can help you decide which data option is best for you.

  3. How am I charged for The MORE Everything Plan?

You'll have two types of charges for The MORE Everything Plan:

For example, if you have 5 devices on your account, you'll be charged a separate device access charge for each device, equaling 5 charges. Plus, you should see one charge for your data plan.

Note: If your data allowance is exceeded, you'll also see an overage charge for that. You can avoid overage charges with Safety Mode on the new Verizon Plan, which allows you to stay online at a reduced speed even after you have depleted your monthly high speed data allowance.

  4. Can I have just one device on The MORE Everything Plan?

The MORE Everything Plan is no longer available to sign up for, but if you already have it you can keep it and have just one device on it.

You can also have one device on the new Verizon Plan and add more devices later if you'd like.

  5. Can I have a basic phone on The MORE Everything Plan? If so, what are the charges for a basic phone on The MORE Everything Plan?

Yes, you can add basic phones to The MORE Everything Plan if you're already on this plan. Basic phones on The MORE Everything Plan get:

    • 700 calling minutes and unlimited messaging for $30/month
    • Pay as you go data for $5/month plus $1.99/MB
    • Calling overage rate of $0.45/minute

  6. With The MORE Everything Plan, can I share my smartphone's Internet connection with my child's gaming device?

Yes, The MORE Everything Plan includes Mobile Hotspot for no additional charge on capable devices, which lets your child connect to the Internet through your phone.

  7. What is backdating and how can I use that with The MORE Everything Plan?

Backdating allows you to change your plan in the middle of your bill cycle and receive one charge for the new plan instead of separate charges on one bill for each plan - the old and new one.

    • If you want to increase your data allowance, you can backdate it to the first day of your bill cycle. Your bill will be calculated as if you were on the new plan for the entire bill cycle. There are no fees for changing your plan or backdating it.

    • If you wish to decrease your data allowance, you can't backdate your bill and it will be prorated. You can still change your data allowance in the middle of your bill cycle, but you'll see two monthly access charges. You'll be charged a discounted rate for both your previous and new plan based on when you switched your plan. You also won't receive the full amount of data for the plan you switch to. Refer to our View Bill / Online Statement FAQs for more information about partial charges.

Note: There are no fees for changing your plan and doing so won't change your contract agreement period.

  8. Can I switch to a different plan and switch back to The MORE Everything Plan?

No, if you decide to switch to a different plan, you can do so without a fee and without extending your contract term. However, you won't be able to switch back to The MORE Everything Plan. If you simply want to change your data allowance, you can do that.

To find out which plan may work for you, use our Data Calculator.

Data
  1. What is a data allowance, and why do I need it with The MORE Everything Plan?

A data allowance is the amount of data included with your selected plan. You use data on your device when you access the Internet, check your email, play games, use apps (e.g., Facebook®, Twitter®, etc.) and more. Background tasks, such as syncing or location services, may also use data. With The MORE Everything Plan, the amount of data you use during these sessions will be deducted from your data allowance. The MORE Everything Plan comes with a data allowance that you can share with up to 10 lines on your account.

Small Business Plans include shareable data for up to 25 devices on 60 GB and higher voice and data plans.

The MORE Everything Plan is no longer available to sign up for. Existing customers with The MORE Everything Plan can keep the plan, add new devices, upgrade devices and change data allowances. If you don't have The MORE Everything Plan already, you can sign up for The Verizon Plan.

  2. What are the data allowance prices on The MORE Everything Plan?

The MORE Everything Plan is no longer available to sign up for. Existing customers with The MORE Everything Plan can keep the plan, add new devices, upgrade devices and change data allowances. If you don't have The MORE Everything Plan already, you can sign up for the new Verizon Plan.

  3. Can I get The MORE Everything Plan with just data?

The MORE Everything Plan is no longer available to sign up for. However, if you already use the Data Only Plan, you can keep it. Or if you remove all the phones from your account, you can use the Data Only Plan. You can also sign up for the new Verizon Plan with one device and/or data only.

The MORE Everything Data Only Plan offers up to 100 GB per month for devices such as tablets, notebooks and other connected devices. See the previous question for a Data Only Plan pricing chart.

  4. What are the data overage rates for The MORE Everything Plan?

All overage rates are in $15 increments. The amount of overage data you get depends on your data allowance.

    Your Data Allowance
Amount of Additional Data for $15
    1 GB and up
    1 GB

    250 MB
    200 MB

If you go over your data allowance at all, you'll be charged the $15 overage rate at a minimum. Your data overage will be rounded up to the next increment. For example, if you have a 2 GB plan, and exceed the data allowance by 1.5 GB, you'll be charged $30 for the data overage.

You can avoid overage charges with Safety Mode on the new Verizon Plan.

  5. Can I change my data allowance on The MORE Everything Plan and switch back to my old allowance if I want to?

Yes, you can change your data allowance on The MORE Everything Plan whenever you'd like and switch between the different data allowances we offer on that plan. However, if you had a data plan at a promotional price, it won't be available at the same price if you want to switch back to it. These promotional data plans include:

    • 10 GB for $80
    • 15 GB for $100

We're encouraging all our customers to consider switching to the new Verizon Plan. It offers some additional benefits and lower pricing in some cases.

Monthly Access Charges and Device Payments
  1. What is the monthly access charge on The MORE Everything Plan?

The monthly access charge is what you pay to receive service on our network for each device you have activated on The MORE Everything Plan. For example, if you have 5 devices on The MORE Everything Plan, your monthly bill will include 5 device access charges.

  2. What are the device access charges on The MORE Everything Plan?

The device access charge for a smartphone and basic phone will be different if you purchased it  through device payments and are still making payments on it, or own your own device. See the following question for more details.

    Device Type
    Monthly Device Access Charge
    Smartphone
    $40
Basic phone and 4G LTE Broadband Router with Voice
    $30
    $20
    Tablets and Netbooks/Notebooks $10
    $5

*LTE Internet (Installed) can only be added to a plan with 10 GB or more. Or you can put it on a standalone plan. Learn more from the LTE Internet (Installed) FAQs.

  3. What's the monthly access charge on The MORE Everything Plan for a smartphone or basic phone if I sign up for device payments?
    • For smartphones, the monthly access charge is $40.
      • However if you had a promotional access discount, it will show up on your bill as a $40 charge with a $15 credit (data allowance up to 4 GB) or as a $40 charge with a $25 credit (data allowance 6 GB or higher).
    • For basic phones, the monthly access charge is $30.
      • However if you had a promotional access discount, it will show up on your bill as a $30 charge with a $10 credit.

  4. Why are monthly access charges different for each device type on The MORE Everything Plan?

The charge varies based on the features and functionality of the device. Smartphones have a higher monthly access charge because they typically use a lot of data, minutes and messages compared to tablets, netbooks or connected devices, which just use data.

International Benefits
  1. How many international text or multimedia messages can I send each month on The MORE Everything Plan?

You can send as many as you want from the US. Every device on your account gets to send unlimited text and multimedia messages internationally from the US on The MORE Everything Plan.

The new Verizon Plan not only has unlimited international messaging from the US, but talk, text and data from Mexico and Canada is included with XL data sizes and larger.

  2. What are the international calling options available with The MORE Everything Plan?

We have several options for customers who make frequent international calls from the US.

Talk, text and data from Mexico and Canada are included with XL data sizes and larger on the new Verizon Plan.

Verizon Cloud
  1. Can I keep my 25 GB of free Verizon Cloud storage if I switch to a different plan?

Yes, if you've already added the free Verizon Cloud storage to your account, then you'll be able to keep it if you switch to a plan other than The MORE Everything Plan. If you haven't already added it, then it's no longer available and can't be added to new devices added to your account.

  2. What can I do with 25 GB of Verizon Cloud storage?

25 GB of Verizon Cloud storage lets you centralize your important content in one, secure location. It makes it easily accessible from multiple devices, including your phone, tablet and computer. While each type of media can vary in the amount of space it uses (due to file size), this chart shows the general equivalent of what you can store with 25 GB of space:

    Types of Media
    25 GB
    Music and audio
    6,000 songs
    Hi-resolution images
    8,500 images
    Videos 100 hrs
    Documents 3,250,000

Managing Your Data Usage
  1. How do I know how much data I will need with The MORE Everything Plan?

We have two tools to help you determine your data usage.

Should you find that you need more or less data than your MORE Everything Plan provides, you can change your plan at any time in My Verizon. However, certain promotional data plan prices will not be available to switch back to.

  2. How can I manage my data usage with The MORE Everything Plan?

You can manage your data in two ways:

    • My Verizon and the My Verizon app: Monitor your unbilled monthly data usage from the My Usage page.

    • Usage Alerts: Set up usage alerts in My Verizon to send a notification when you're reaching your data limit. To set up a data alert:
    1. Go to the Usage Alerts page in My Verizon.

    2. Under the When to Alert section, scroll down to Data and select the alerts you'd like to receive.

Note: A check mark above a percentage amount indicates the alert has been turned on for that usage amount.

    3. Click Save All Alerts.

You've successfully set up data usage alerts.

Should you find that you need more or less data than your MORE Everything Plan provides, you can change your plan at any time in My Verizon. However, certain promotional data plan prices will not be available to switch back to.

  3. Is there a way to limit an individual's data use with The MORE Everything Plan?

Yes. With Verizon FamilyBase®, you'll be able to monitor and set limits for data usage, define time restrictions for when data should not be used and receive alerts for each device. Verizon FamilyBase is available for $5/month for your entire account (up to 10 devices).

For more information, see our FamilyBase FAQs page.

  4. Can I see how much data I have used in my current bill cycle?

There are various ways to check your data usage both online and on your device.

    Ways to Check Data Usage

    2. Tap Usage Details.
    3. Tap Data to view the data usage for each line on your account.

  5. Where can I see the data usage charges on my Verizon Wireless bill?

For a quick summary of your daily charges:

    1. Go to the My Bill page in My Verizon.

    2. Click the Calls, Messages & Data tab.

    3. Click Data.

You'll see the data usage for your last bill cycle. You can see a summary of your data usage in KB, MB or GB.

  6. My average monthly data usage falls right in between two MORE Everything Plan data options. Is it better for me to get the larger plan?

The MORE Everything Plan is no longer available to sign up for. Existing customers with The MORE Everything Plan can keep the plan, add new devices, upgrade devices and change data allowances. You can sign up for the new Verizon Plan if you're starting a new account.

If your data usage falls between two options, it may be a better value to sign up for the larger allowance. Should you find that you need more or less data, you can change your allowance at any time in My Verizon.

  7. How does using Wi-Fi impact my data usage?

By activating your Wi-Fi settings, you'll still have access to the Internet, but you won't use your monthly data allowance. Most smartphones and tablets can be configured to search for open Wi-Fi hotspots and, depending on your settings, automatically connect.

Note: Wi-Fi hotspots generally don't include over-the-air encryption to protect your data from observation from other users. As such, we recommend that you always use a firewall on your computer and have current anti-virus software to protect your computer from possible infection or attack. Using Wi-Fi can also deplete your battery faster than using a Verizon Wireless network connection.

  8. I reset my device and have to download all of my apps again. Will I be charged for data usage when I do this?

Unfortunately, yes, you'll be charged for data usage on apps you re-download, or you can save on data usage by connecting to a Wi-Fi network.
