Clear Temporary Internet Files - Samsung Galaxy S®6 / S 6 edge

If your device runs slow, crashes/resets or apps freeze when running them, view this information.

Note Notes:

  • Ensure your Google apps are up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
  • If unable to access the app, temporary Internet files can also be cleared by reset the browser app. However, utilizing this method results in all settings/preferences (e.g., browser bookmarks) being cleared.

 

  1. From the Chrome browser, tap the Menu icon Menu icon (located in the upper-right).
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. From the Advanced section, tap Privacy.
  4. Tap CLEAR BROWSING DATA.
  5. From the Clear browsing data prompt, select any of the following then tap CLEAR (located in the lower-right):
    • Browsing history
      Note A listing of URLs (website addresses) that you like to visit.
    • Cache.
      Note Your website visits content is stored on the device. The cache enables the browser to download only the content that has changed since the last time you went to a website. Since the browser only downloads changed content, pages are loaded faster.
    • Cookies, site data
      Note Some cookies contain customized preference and login information for past websites you like to visit. If you delete this, the website may prompt for this info again.
    • Saved passwords
    • Autofill data
