Samsung Galaxy S® 6 / S® 6 edge - Configure Broadcast Settings - Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot

If you are experiencing connectivity issues with your Mobile Hotspot or your device isn't found, check out the steps below.

Note To avoid interference with other Wi-Fi networks, try using non-overlapping channels (i.e., 1, 6, or 11).

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering (Wireless and networks section).
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
  3. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right).
  4. Tap Configure Mobile Hotspot.
  5. Select (check) Show advanced options.
    Note You may need to scroll to the bottom.
  6. From the Broadcast channel section, select an option:
    Note Selected when a blue dot is present.
    • 2.4 GHz
    • 5 GHz
  7. Tap the Dropdown menu icon Drop down menu icon then select a channel (e.g., Auto, 1, 2, 3, 11, etc.).
  8. Tap SAVE (lower-right).
