Samsung Galaxy S® 6 / S® 6 edge - Enable / Disable App

Some apps that come pre-installed (e.g., calculator, Google Play™ Store, Verizon Cloud, Call Filter, etc.) on your Android™ device can't be uninstalled; however, they can be disabled (turned off) so they don't appear in the list of apps on your device.

Note The option to enable or disable an app may only be available for apps that can't be uninstalled.

 

Enable App

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings > Apps (Phone section).
  2. Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  3. Tap Application manager.
  4. Do one of the following:
  5. To enable an app:
  6. Locate then tap the app name (e.g., Cloud).
  7. Note If system apps aren't visible, tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right) > Show system apps.
  8. Tap ENABLE.

Disable App

Caution Disabling an app may cause related apps to function improperly.

  1. To disable an app:
  2. Locate then tap the app name (e.g., Cloud).
  3. Note If system apps aren't visible, tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right) > Show system apps.
  4. Tap FORCE STOP.
  5. Tap FORCE STOP to confirm.
  6. Tap DISABLE.
  7. To confirm, tap DISABLE.
