My Verizon app - Android™ - Device Health Check

View this info to identify and fix common issues on your Android device related to the battery, storage, or performance and to check your indoor coverage.

Note Notes:

  • Ensure your app is up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
  • The My Verizon app is only available for Android devices running 4.0 or higher and Apple® iOS devices running 10.0 or higher. For all other devices, visit verizonwireless.com to sign in and manage your account.

Run Service Checks

  1. From a Home screen, tap the My Verizon app.
    Note If not available, tap the Apps icon or swipe up or down from the center of a Home screen to access the app list.
  2. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-left).

  3. Tap Devices.

  4. Tap Manage to choose the appropriate device.

  5. From the Manage tab, tap Service check.

  6. Tap Device Health Check.

  7. From the Device Health Check page, tap any of the following items then follow instructions to make improvements:
    Note Available options vary depending upon device.
    Note Items that can be improved are listed next to an exclamation mark inside a red or black diamond.
    • Battery
    • Performance
    • Connectivity
    • Storage

  8. From the Service Checks page, tap Home Coverage.

  9. From the Assessment tab, tap Start.

  10. Select the preferred options from the 'Floor level' and 'Room name' dropdown menus then tap Start testing.

  11. Tap 'Test another room' or 'Complete testing'.

  12. Once you're done testing, enter the desired info in the 'Add a label to this assessment' field then tap Save.

Manage Automatic Health Check

Note Device Health Check is set to run automatically by default.

  1. From the Device Health Check screen (Overview tab), tap Auto health check.

  2. Tap the Auto run health check? switch to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.

  3. Tap the Dropdown menu Dropdown Menu icon to configure the following as preferred:
    • Time of auto run
      Note Tap OK to set time.
    • Pick a day of the week

  4. Select one of the following:
    Note Selected when a checkmark is present.
    • Run every week
    • Run every two weeks

  5. Tap Cleaning Tasks then select the preferred options from the 'Auto tasks', 'Manual tasks' and 'Periodic photo cleanup' sections.
    Note Available options vary depending upon device.
    Note Selected when a checkmark is present.
    • Turn location off
    • Turn brightness to auto
    • Screen Timeout (Set to default of 60 seconds)
    • Clean cache (Temporary files)
    • Turn NFC off
    • Power Cycle
    • Internal Storage
    • External Storage
    • Apps Draining Battery
    • Duplicate Photos
    • Burst Photos
  6. Tap Save (at the bottom).

View Device Health Check History

  1. From a Home screen, tap the My Verizon app.

  8. View the listed results.
    Note To view detailed results of each test, tap the Arrow icon Next icon to the right of the desired line.
