Apple® iPhone® - Fetch New Data

Caution Push requires more power and may have an effect on battery life.

Note Notes:

  • Fetch New Data is a feature that allows the user to select how often the device checks for new data. Push is a feature that's only available with certain accounts that automatically push data to the device.
  • The steps below don't apply to the iPhone 5ciPhone 5iPhone 4s or the iPhone 4.

 

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Settings Settings Icon > Passwords & Accounts
  2. Tap Fetch New Data then tap the Push switch to turn on Switch On or off Switch Off.
  3. Select an account.
  4. Select a schedule option then tap Back arrow Fetch New Data (upper-left).
    Note The schedule option is selected when a checkmark is present.
    • Push
      Note Updates are pushed to your iPhone when possible.
    • Fetch
      Note Checks for updates on a frequency schedule.
    • Manual
      Note Checks for updates only when the app is in use.
  5. Select a frequency option:
    Note Selected when a checkmark is present (options may vary).
    • Automatically
      Note Fetches new data in the background only when on power and Wi-Fi.
    • Manually
    • Hourly
    • Every 30 Minutes
    • Every 15 Minutes
