Apple® iPhone® - Fetch New Data

Note Notes:

  • Fetch New Data is a feature that allows the user to select how often the device checks for new data. Push is a feature that's only available with certain accounts that automatically push data to the device.
  • The steps below apply to the following models:
    • iPhone X / XS / XS Max / XR
    • iPhone 8 / 8 Plus
    • iPhone 7 / 7 Plus
    • iPhone SE
    • iPhone 6 / 6 Plus / 6s / 6s Plus
    • iPhone 5s

  1. From the Home screen, navigate: Settings Settings Icon > Accounts & Passwords.
    Note For iOS 12, navigate: Settings > Passwords & Accounts
  2. Tap Fetch New Data.
  3. Tap the Push switch to turn on Switch On or off Switch Off.
  4. Select an account.
  5. Select a schedule option then tap Back arrow Fetch New Data (upper-left).
    Note The schedule option is selected when a check mark is present.
    • Push
      Note Updates are pushed to your iPhone when possible.
    • Fetch
      Note Checks for updates on a frequency schedule.
    • Manual
      Note Checks for updates only when the app is in use.
  6. Select a frequency option:
    Note Selected when a check mark is present (options may vary).
    • Automatically
      Note Fetches new data in the background only when on power and Wi-Fi.
    • Manually
    • Hourly
    • Every 30 Minutes
    • Every 15 Minutes
