Setup Mobile Hotspot

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon >Network & Internet Network and internet icon > Mobile Hotspot & Tethering Mobile hotspot & tethering icon.
  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
  4. Tap Advanced.
  5. Configure the following as needed
    • Hotspot name
    • Hide my device
      Note Enabled when a checkmark is present.
    • Security
      • WPA2 PSK
      • None
    • Hotspot password
      Note Password can be changed.
    • AP Band
      • 2.4 GHz Band
      • 5.0 GHz Band
    • Client (DHCP) start address

Manage Devices

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon >Network & Internet Network and internet icon > Mobile Hotspot & Tethering Mobile hotspot & tethering icon.
  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
  4. Tap Advanced.
  5. Tap Manage Devices.
    Note Restricts which devices are allowed to connect.
  6. To set allowed devices, tap Manage allowed devices.
    1. Tap Allow all devices to enable or disable.
      Note Enabled when a checkmark is present.
    2. To add a device:
      1. Tap Add allowed device.
      2. Enter the MAC address (device name is optional) then tap OK.
      3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 as necessary. When finished, tap the Back icon Back icon (lower-left)
  7. Tap Device limit.
    Note Limits how many devices can be connected at the same time.
    1. Select an option (e.g., 2 Devices, 3 Devices, 10 Devices, etc.)
    2. Tap the Back icon Back icon (lower-left).

Timeout

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon >Network & Internet Network and internet icon > Mobile Hotspot & Tethering Mobile hotspot & tethering icon.
  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
  4. Tap Advanced.
  5. Tap Manage Devices.
  6. Tap Timeout settings.
    Note Sets how long before the hotspot turns off after no activity.
  7. Select an option:
    • 10 min
    • 15 min
    • 30min
    • 60 min
    • Never turn-off
  8. Tap the Back icon Back icon (lower-left).
