Samsung Galaxy Tab A (8.0) - Configure Broadcast Settings - Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot

If you are experiencing connectivity issues with your Mobile Hotspot or your device isn't found, check out the steps below.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Connections.
  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot and Tethering then tap Mobile Hotspot.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right).
  5. Tap Configure Mobile Hotspot.
  6. Tap (check) Show advanced options.
    Note You may need to scroll to the bottom.
  7. From the Broadcast channel section, tap (check) Use 5 GHz band when available if you want to connect to 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
    Note The circle is blue when enabled.
  8. Tap the Dropdown menu icon Dropdown menu icon then select a channel (e.g., Auto, 1, 2, 3, 11, etc.).
  9. Tap Save (lower-right).
