Samsung Galaxy Tab A (8.0) - View / Restrict Data Usage by App

Caution Some apps depend upon background data (transferring data when not directly in use). Restricting background data may cause those apps to stop functioning unless a Wi-Fi connection is available.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Connections > Data usage.
  3. From the Mobile section (in the right pane), tap Mobile data usage.
Note To see Wi-Fi data usage, tap Wi-Fi data usage in the Wi-Fi section.
  4. Select an app (below the usage graph) then view the usage.
Note To restrict the app from using data in the background, tap the Allow background data usage switch to turn off Settings icon.
