Verizon's Refer a Friend Program Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions ("Terms") apply to Verizon's Refer a Friend program ("Program"). Both existing Verizon customers ("Referrers") and new Verizon customers ("Referees") agree to these Terms by participating in the Program.

    How it Works

    1. The Dashboard.
      The Refer a Friend Dashboard ("Dashboard") is available to all existing Verizon Wireless customers and can be found on My Verizon Online or the My Verizon App. The Dashboard:
      • Generates unique referral codes
      • Provides options for sharing referral codes with friends and family
      • Lists referral codes sent
      • Lists referral credits awarded
      • Displays amounts saved while participating in the Program
    2. Making a Referral.
      • Customers must meet the Program's Eligibility Requirements (below) to participate
      • They must use the Dashboard to make a referral
      • The Dashboard will generate a unique code for each referral; each code may only be used once and will expire sixty (60) days after it is generated
      • The Referrer will use the Dashboard to send the code via text, email or other messaging platform
      • Customers may only make referrals to friends and family; by making a referral you are representing that you have permission to send a message to the Referee
      • Referrers may not promote the Program through paid media, by posting referral codes publicly on social media, or through an arranged agreement with sales agents or other third parties that provides compensation for distributing or providing referral codes from the Program
      • For the Referrer to receive a $180 referral reward ($15/mo. credits for 12 months), the Referee must:
        1. enroll in a new Verizon Unlimited postpaid wireless phone service (currently myPlan) and
        2. Remain active and in good standing for thirty (30) days from the date of enrollment
      • Once the thirty (30) day requirement is met, Referrers will receive the first of twelve (12) credits on their bill within 1-2 billing cycles
    3. Using a Referral Code.
      • The Referee must meet the Program's eligibility requirements (below) to participate
      • Referral codes may only be redeemed through a digital order on verizon.com or the My Verizon App
      • The Referee must port-in and enroll in a new Verizon Unlimited postpaid wireless phone service (currently myPlan) account with at least one line that has not been on the Verizon network for the last ninety (90) days to receive their referral reward. Referees begin receiving their referral reward(s) immediately
      • The Refer a Friend reward will be applied to any Verizon Unlimited postpaid wireless phone lines added within thirty (30) days of the day the account is created
      • A Referee may not use multiple referral codes; they may only use a single referral code and will be provided only one referral reward per eligible line, subject to these Terms and as determined by Verizon

    Eligibility Details

    Referrers.

    • Must be 18 years of age or older and on a postpaid Verizon Unlimited or metered phone plan or on an Unlimited connected device plan
    • Consumer accounts only. Business accounts are not eligible to participate
    • Referrer accounts must remain with Verizon for twelve (12) months in good standing to receive the full benefit of the referral reward. Refer a Friend credits will not continue after an account is terminated
    • Verizon employees and third-party agents compensated for selling Verizon service are not eligible to participate in the Program

    Referees.

    • Must be 18 years of age or older and enroll digitally in a postpaid Verizon Unlimited phone service via the Program. Consumer accounts only. When establishing a new account at least one (1) line on the account must be a port-in to Verizon that has not been active on the Verizon network within the last ninety (90) days
    • Each Referee line must remain with Verizon for twelve (12) months in good standing to receive the full benefit of the referral reward. Refer a Friend credits will not continue for a line that has been terminated
    • Verizon employees and third-party agents compensated for selling Verizon service are not eligible to participate in the Program

    Reward Details

    All referrals must comply with these Terms and satisfy all Program criteria to be eligible for a Referrer or Referee referral reward.

    Referrers.

    • Under the Program, Referrers are eligible to receive a referral reward of $180.00, paid in $15.00/mo. credit increments on the Referrer's Verizon Wireless bill over the course of twelve (12) months for completed referrals
    • A referral is complete when the Referee enrolls in a new Verizon Unlimited postpaid phone service (currently myPlan) account and remains active and in good standing for at least thirty (30) days
    • A maximum of ten (10) referral rewards can be in effect and credited toward your bill at any one time. While an existing customer can make as many referrals as they choose, if a Referrer has ten (10) credits on their account, no new credits will be issued. Once the number of credits drop below ten (10), then credits can be added for subsequent completed referrals
    • The aggregate amount of credits applied to a Referrer's account cannot exceed their total bill in a given month; any excess credit amounts will not be carried over to the next bill(s) or otherwise refunded to the Referrer. However, during the 12-month credit period, each month's credit will be available for use, regardless of whether it was used in full the previous month
    • Credits may not be applied to security deposits invoiced to a Referrer's account, down payments for device payment plans, late fees and unpaid balances carried over from a previous billing cycle
    • Canceling or transferring all lines on a Referrer's account will remove all current referral rewards associated with the account. Referral rewards cannot be restored once removed

    Referees.

    • Under the Program, Referees are eligible to receive a referral reward of $180.00, paid in $15.00/mo. credit increments on the Referee's bill over the course of twelve (12) months for each line that enrolls in a new postpaid Verizon Unlimited phone service account. In order for a line to be eligible for a referral reward, the line must be added during or within thirty (30) days of the establishment of the new account.
    • Rewards are provided as $15 credits per month per activated phone line until expired. Rewards expire after 12 months
    • Referees participating in Verizon's Free Trial will remain eligible to receive a referral reward upon completion of their participation in Free Trial
    • Canceling or transferring a line on a Referee's account will remove all current referral rewards associated with that line. Referral rewards cannot be restored after they have been removed

    General Provisions

    • Verizon reserves the right to change eligibility criteria under the Program, remove referral rewards deemed to be fraud, abuse, misuse, or such other inappropriate or suspicious behavior
    • Verizon may alter, modify, suspend or terminate the Program or any part of the Program at any time upon notice, which notice may be provided through verizon.com, My Verizon Online, My Verizon App, mail, e-mail, bill message or such other methods as determined by Verizon in its sole discretion
    • Only referrals which follow the Terms and satisfy all Program criteria shall be eligible for a referral reward
    • A Referrer or Referee may be required to provide information about the other such as name and address in order to validate the referral reward and their eligibility
    • All taxes associated with the receipt or use of the Referral Credits are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Recipients are advised to consult their tax professional.
