Phone to Phone Content Transfer - My Verizon app

Note Notes:

  • Ensure your app is up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
  • The My Verizon app is only available for Android® devices running 4.0 or higher and Apple® iOS devices running 10.0 or higher. For all other devices, visit vzw.com to sign in and manage your account.

 

Old Device Transfer Process
The old phone containing the desired media files.
New Device Transfer Process
The new phone that the desired media files are going to.

 

Old Device Transfer Process

  1. From the Home screen tap the My Verizon app or navigate: Apps > My Verizon.
  2. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-left) then tap Devices.
  3. If needed, tap Manage to select a device.

  4. Tap Phone-to-phone Transfer.
    Note May require scrolling down.

  5. Tap Start Transfer (at the bottom).

  6. If prompted to give the appropriate permissions, tap Allow or OK:
    • Access photos, media and files
    • Access contacts
    • Access to make and manage phone calls
    • Access to send and view SMS messages
    • Access the calendar
    • Access the device's location
  7. Tap This is my old phone then tap Next (at the bottom).

  8. If presented with a Wi-Fi disconnect screen, tap I Understand.
  9. Tap an option then tap Next.
    • Android to Android
    • Android to iPhone
    • iPhone to iPhone
    • iPhone to Other
  10. If prompted with a default messaging screen, tap OK.
  11. Tap Yes.
  12. Using the old device, scan the QR code that is displayed on the new device.
    Note If a phone name doesn't appear or you're using an older phone connect via Wi-Fi.

  13. Select the desired media to transfer to the new phone then tap Transfer.
    • Contacts
    • Photos
    • Videos
    • Audio (Android to Android only)
    • Call Logs (Android to Android only)
    • SMS (Android to Android only)
    • Calendars (iPhone to iPhone only)
    • Reminders (iPhone to iPhone only)
  14. When prompted with 'Congrats. You're Done.', tap Done.

New Device Transfer Process

  11. Using the old phone, scan the QR code that is displayed on the screen of the new device.

  12. If receiving a connection invitation tap Accept.
    Note If a phone name doesn't appear or you're using an older phone connect via Wi-Fi.
  13. When prompted with 'Congrats. You're Done.', tap Done.

Transfer Content from Old Device Using Wi-Fi

  1. Tap Manual Setup.
  2. Tap OK to restart the app.
  3. Tap Start transfer.
  4. Tap This is my old phone then tap Next.
  5. If presented with a Wi-Fi disconnect screen, tap I Understand.
  6. Tap an option then tap Next.
    • Android to Android
    • Android to iPhone
  7. If prompted with a default messaging screen, tap OK.
  8. Tap Yes.
  9. Tap I don't see my phone then tap Next.
  10. Tap Wi-Fi settings.
  11. Select a Wi-Fi network, if prompted tap Connect then tap Next.
  12. Tap Next.
  13. Enter the code displayed on the new device, tap Done the tap Next.
  14. Select the content to be transferred then tap Transfer.
  15. When prompted with 'Congrats. You're Done.', tap Done.

  9. Tap Wi-Fi settings (at the bottom).
  10. Select a Wi-Fi network, if prompted tap Connect then tap Next.
  11. Tap Next.
  12. Tap OK.
  13. When prompted with 'Congrats. You're Done.', tap Done.
