My Verizon app - Activate New Line Using Previously Owned Device
Ensure your app is up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
The My Verizon app is only available for Android® devices running 4.0 or higher and Apple® iOS devices running 10.0 or higher. For all other devices, visit verizonwireless.com to sign in and manage your account.
Follow these instructions to activate a new line with a previously used device.
From the Home screen, tap the My Verizon app or navigate: Apps > My Verizon.
Tap the Menu icon (upper-left) then tap Devices.
Tap Add Line.
Tap Activate a device I already own then tap Next.
Tap one of the following then tap Next:
Tap one of the following then tap Next (may require scrolling):
Enter the device ID then tap Next.
Enter the SIM ID then tap Next.
If you don't have a SIM, tap Get new SIM (at the bottom).
Enter your zipcode, choose the first 6 digits of your new phone number then tap Next.
Tap the red drop-down arrow to display more phone number options.
From the Confirm Details screen, scroll down to tap the radio button to accept the Verizon Wireless Customer Agreement then tap Confirm. When accepted, a red circle and check mark appear.
