My Verizon app - Add a New Line of Service

Follow these steps if you'd like to add a new line of service to your existing account.

Caution Only an Account Owner or Account Manager can add a new line of service via the My Verizon app. Here's more info on account roles.

Note Notes:

  • Ensure your app is up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
  • The My Verizon app is only available for Android® devices running 4.0 or higher and Apple® iOS devices running 10.0 or higher. For all other devices, visit verizonwireless.com to sign in and manage your account.

  1. From the Home screen, tap the My Verizon app or navigate: Apps > My Verizon.
  2. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (located in the upper-left) then tap Devices.
  3. Tap Add device.

  4. Tap Purchase a new device then tap Next (located at the bottom):

  5. Select a trade-in option then tap Next:
    Note Selected when a check mark is present.
    • Yes, trade in a device that's been active on my account.
      Note If trading in:
      1. Answer the trade-in value questions then tap Next.
      2. Once trade-in value displays, tap either 'No thanks' or 'Accept credit'.
    • No, I won't be trading in a device.
  6. Follow the on-screen prompts to select and customize your new device.
  7. Tap Next.
  8. Select a payment option (device payment or retail price) then tap Next.
  9. Enter the 5-digit zip code for the new number then choose the first 6 digits of your number by tapping the 'Phone number" dropdown menu then tap Next.
    Note Area code is based on ZIP code entered.

  10. Select an equipment protection plan or decline equipment protection then tap Save.
  11. Add any applicable accessories then tap Next.
  12. Review your cart then tap Check out.

  13. If prompted, enter your My Verizon password.
  14. Tap the Address, Shipping method and Payment method fields to edit as needed.
  15. To continue, tap the Circle icon to acknowledge you have read and agreed to the Verizon Wireless Customer Agreement.
  16. Tap Place Order then tap Done.
