Upgrade Device - My Verizon app (Prepaid)

Note Notes:

  • Ensure your app is up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
  • The My Verizon app is only available for Android® devices running 4.0 or higher and Apple® iOS devices running 8.0 or higher. For all other devices, visit verizonwireless.com to sign in and manage your account.
  • Available settings vary based on user type (e.g., Account Owner, Member).


  1. From the Home screen tap the My Verizon app or navigate: Apps > My Verizon.
  2. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-left) then tap Shop.
  3. From the 'Smartphones' screen, tap the desired phone.
    Note View device feature details, reviews and specs by clicking the desired tab.
  4. To continue ordering, tap Select.
  5. From the 'Add a line or upgrade' screen tap Upgrade.
    Note View details is shown if the line is not eligible for upgrade.
  6. From the 'Get Started' screen, tap Let's go.
  7. If presented, select the desired device color then tap Next.
    Note Some devices have only one color option.
  8. If presented, select the desired memory size then tap Next.
    Note Some devices have only one size option.
  9. Add any additional items (e.g., accessories, etc.) then tap Next.
  10. Review the item(s) in your cart then tap Checkout.
  11. From the Complete your order screen, ensure all order details are correct (e.g., shipping address, payment method, etc.).
    Note If needed, tap the field then follow instructions to modify order info.
  12. To continue, tap the Terms and Conditions checkbox then tap Place order.
    Note 'Place order' is greyed out until a valid payment method is added.
  13. From the purchase confirmation, tap Confirm.
    Note If needed, tap Cancel to return to the previous screen.
  14. Tap Done.
