Second Number plan for Dual SIM phones FAQs

Verizon Second Number is a monthly plan that lets you add a second Verizon mobile number to your compatible smartphone:*

• Second Number includes Unlimited Talk and Text in the US, Mexico and Canada.
• Data (for apps and internet) is provided by your primary Verizon plan/number.

*Requires a Dual SIM capable device, compatible with the Verizon network, where 1 electronic SIM (eSIM) is not in use. Some devices may not be compatible with all features supported by the Verizon network.

You can add a Second Number plan* to your compatible Verizon standard monthly mobile phone plan for $15/month. Second Number lowers the cost to add a second line to your eligible mobile phone.

• No fees to activate; no cost to cancel.
• If you need it, add TravelPass for $10/month.

Here's how each of your 2 numbers work when you have a Second Number plan:

• Talk and text using either number, at any time.
• Data (i.e., internet, apps, streaming, etc.) is provided by your primary number.

If you're shopping for a smartphone and want to use Second Number, the phone's primary SIM can be either a physical SIM or an eSIM. The phone must also have:

• At least 1 available SIM
• Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) capability, enabled

For a smartphone you already own, here’s how to see if your device can have a Second Number.*

Sign in to My Verizon to find out whether the plan and phone you have now are eligible for adding Second Number.

Here’s what happens to your Second Number if you switch to a primary mobile plan that's not eligible for Second Number:

• Within a day, we notify you that your new plan is not eligible for Second Number.
• After 3 days, the Second Number line is disconnected.

Your phone still has only one contacts list, even after you add Second Number. Watch the Second Number video for your device:

You can set the preferred "call from" number for each of your contacts. Watch the Second Number video for your device:

You must be the Account Owner or an Account Manager to make changes to a Second Number plan.

Sign in to My Verizon to manage your Second Number plan. Choose Manage Devices to:

• Move the Second Number plan and number to a different device.
• Change the phone number that's assigned to your Second Number plan.
• Cancel your Second Number plan.

Just like with your primary line, for Second Number you can also:

• Add TravelPass
• Add Services

If you temporarily suspend your primary Verizon mobile number, Second Number will not be suspended at the same time. You can suspend Second Number as well if you want.

If you disconnect your primary mobile number, your Second Number is canceled 3 days later.

To keep using your secondary number, you can do one of these:

• Make the secondary number the primary line for your smartphone. Requires a standard monthly mobile plan.
• Associate the Second Number plan and number with a different smartphone on your account. Contact us to do this for you.
• Transfer the secondary number to another Verizon account. Visit our Transfer your service FAQs to learn more.
