A Data Boost is extra high-speed data the account owner or account manager can buy to help the account's lines avoid slower connection speeds.
When you buy a Data Boost, what the extra high-speed data is used for depends on your plan:

|Play More Unlimited, Do More Unlimited, Get More Unlimited, Above Unlimited, Beyond Unlimited, the Verizon Plan Unlimited and Connected Device Unlimited Plan||When you add a 5 GB Data Boost to a line on your account, mobile hotspot 4G LTE speed resumes for that line.|
|Go Unlimited, Start Unlimited||Data boosts aren't available.|
|The new Verizon Plan (shared data plans, e.g., S, M, L)||Each Data Boost you buy adds 1 GB of 4G LTE speed data for the account's general device use, including Mobile Hotspot.|
|The Just Kids plan||Adds 1 GB of 4G LTE speed data for the Just Kids line's general device use, including Mobile Hotspot.|
|Unlimited with 5G Ultra Wideband Hotspot Data||Buy a data boost to add 50 GB more of 5G Ultra Wideband data and 5 GB more of 4G LTE data to your 5G Jetpack.
