Windows® can automatically back up device content to OneDrive including settings, app list, photos, videos, and messages. To utilize the backup functionality, the device must be signed in with a Microsoft account and there must be enough available space in OneDrive to store the data.
From the right edge of the screen, swipe left to display the charms menu.
If using a mouse, move the pointer to the upper or lower-right corner of the Start screen then move up/down.
Alternatively, press the Windows+C keys ( +C) located on the physical keyboard (if available).
Tap or click Settings.
From the left-pane, tap or click OneDrive.
If not available, tap or click Back as necessary until 'PC settings' appears in the upper-left.
From the left-pane, tap or click File storage.
From the OneDrive storage section, tap or click the 'Save documents to OneDrive by default' switch to turn off .
Depending upon personalization options, the switch colors may differ from the examples depicted above.
Tap or click Camera Roll.
From the Upload photos and videos section, select one of the following:
Don't upload photos
Upload photos at good quality
Upload photos at best quality
Tap or click the 'Automatically upload videos to OneDrive' switch to turn off.
Tap or click Sync settings.
Tap or click the switch for any of the various sync settings to turn off (e.g., Sync your settings on this PC, My themes, taskbar, high contrast, and more, etc.):
Tap or click Metered connections.
Tap or click the switch for any of the following to turn off :
Upload and download files over metered connections
Upload and download files over metered connections even when I'm roaming
Sync and back up settings over metered connections
Sync and back up settings over metered connections even when I'm roaming
