Add Content Filtering - Verizon Smart Family™ - Website

Note To perform the steps below, you need to: 

 

  1. From a computer visit Manage Verizon Smart Family.
    Line note If using a smartphone or tablet, refer to the Android® or Apple® iOS instructions.
  2. From the list of devices (at the top), ensure the appropriate mobile number (that filtering should be applied to) is selected.
  3. From the left menu, click Content filters to expand.
  4. If prompted, click Start.
  5. From the Set filters according to age screen, perform the following:
    1. Review the disclaimer then select (check) I understand to continue.
    2. Enter your child's age then click Save & continue.
  6. Select (check) the objectionable content to be blocked then click Save & continue.
  7. Select the social media content to be blocked then click Save & continue.
  8. Select the messaging content to be blocked then click Save & continue.
  9. Select the game content to be blocked then click Save & continue.
  10. Select the video content to be blocked then click Save & continue.
  11. To add blocked websites, enter the web address (e.g., www.example.com) into the available field then click Block.
    Line note Repeat this step as necessary.
  12. To add trusted websites, click the Trusted tab (at the top) and enter the web address into the available field then click Trust.
    Line note Repeat this step as necessary.
  13. Click the Malware tab (at the top) and select the malware content to be blocked then click Save & continue.
  14. Click the Downloads tab (at the top) then select the download content to be blocked then click Save & continue.
  15. Click the More tab and select the additional content to be blocked then click Save & continue.
  16. Click Text instructions to <Child's name>.
    Line note Instructions for pairing are sent to the child device.
  17. Using the child device, follow the instructions received via text to complete pairing.
    Line note If necessary, refer to these instructions for Android or Apple iOS.
