Import Contacts - Android® - Backup Assistant

Notes:

  • Contacts may need to be exported as a Comma Separated Value (.CSV) file then imported into the Backup Assistant website.
  • Contacts synchronize automatically to the device depending on the synchronization schedule.
  • The Motorola Droid (A855) and the HTC DROID Eris ADR6200 are not Backup Assistant compatible.

 

BlackBerry

  1. Ensure Backup Assistant is installed on the BlackBerry device.
  2. Back up contacts.
  3. Ensure the BlackBerry device is powered down then activate the Android® device.
  4. Ensure Backup Assistant is installed on the Android® device.
  5. Restore Contacts.

 

Regular handset

  1. Ensure Backup Assistant is installed on the handset.
  2. Back up contacts.
  3. Ensure the handset is powered down then activate the Android® device.
  4. Ensure Backup Assistant is installed on the Android® device.
  5. Restore Contacts.

 

Windows Mobile

  1. Synchronize the device to Outlook.
  2. Export contacts to a CSV file.
  3. Import contacts to the Backup Assistant Website.
  4. Ensure the Windows Mobile device is powered down then activate the Android® device.
  5. Ensure Backup Assistant is installed on the Android® device.
  6. Restore Contacts.

 

Palm OS

  1. Synchronize to Palm Desktop or Outlook.
  2. Export contacts from Palm Desktop or Outlook to a CSV file.
  3. Import contacts to the Backup Assistant Website.
  4. Ensure the Palm OS device is powered down then activate the Android® device.
  5. Ensure Backup Assistant is installed on the Android® device.
  6. Restore Contacts.

 

Contacts can also be added using Gmail.
